Session Description:
After a very brief introduction to common RIS issues, this will be
an interactive discussion among attendees about what is on your RIS
worklist. Come ready to think about how you view the tasks of a RIS,
what software you use to accomplish those tasks, and what does or does
not work in your current situation. This will, hopefully, provide you
with new ideas for how to solve your current RIS issues. We expect
discussion to range from basic RIS understanding to advanced informatics
strategies and future directions.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand how RIS, PACS, transcription systems, HIS, EMR, and
coding and billing software overlap, and where holes exist between the
RIS and these other labels.
2. Describe what information a medical imaging entity contends with
besides images.
3. Describe interactivity and interface issues among imaging informatics
systems.
