Session Description:
Why is a “High Availability” system needed? What could cause disruptions
in service?
High availability must be planned for during system design and
implementation. There may be significant costs depending on the system
architecture and capabilities. Policies and procedures must be developed
in case of downtimes and must be tested.
Learning Objectives:
1. Define high availability, downtimes and common causes.
2. Identify system architectures and design models.
3. Describe methods to insure high availability.
