Seattle Welcomes You!
Located along the Puget Sound, Seattle offers a wide range of
attractions!
Seattle’s natural deep-water harbor, Elliott Bay, features old
fishing piers that have been converted to restaurants and
specialty shopping malls, and is the starting point for ferries,
cruise ships, and water tours. Popular attractions include
Seattle's Pike Place Market, one of the oldest continuously
operated farmer's markets in the USA.
In addition, don’t miss the Seattle Center, the legacy of the
1962 Seattle World’s Fair. The Center is a 74-acre urban park
and home to the landmark Space Needle. The SIIM 2008 Welcome
Reception will take place at the top of the space needle on
Friday evening, May 16, 2008. Several National Parks –
Mount Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades – are all close by,
with magnificent views of the highest peaks on clear days. Although Washington is a
newcomer in the wine industry, nearby wineries are waiting to be
discovered.
