New!
The 3rd Annual "RIDE-TO-SIIM" is just around the corner!
It's not too late to make a pledge to help us raise money for the
SIIM Research Grant
Fund. We're looking for as many per-mile pledges as we can find!
Since we estimate the round-trip from Chicago at over 4000 miles, a 1
penny per mile pledge will translate into a $40.00 tax deductible
donation to SIIM. Ten cents a mile will raise $400. A one dollar a mile
pledge will not only get you a $4000 deduction but also an autographed
glossy photograph (and DICOM image file) of you sitting on one of the
motorcycles, surrounded by the riders.
SEND PLEDGES BY E-MAIL TO SIIM.
Please be sure to send complete contact information.
SIIM will contact you after the ride to make arrangements for payment
and to get you your tax letter. Contributions to the SIIM Grant Program,
a 501c(3) organization, is tax-deductible to the fullest extent
allowable by law.
See how much fun we had
in 2006 on the Ride
to SCAR 2006 in Austin. Our theme this year is "High Plains
Driftin' for a Fistful of Dollars". We will cross the Rockies and
the Cascades and hope to pass through Glacier National Park. We are
leaving Chicagoland on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the crack of dawn. Dave
Channin and Alex Kogan will blog the trip at
http://xray-reflections.blogspot.com.
Imaging informatics practitioners in all capacities are invited to
Seattle in May for the SIIM 2008 Annual Meeting.
Are you a physician? Imaging informatics professional? Health care CIO?
Whatever your profession or area of expertise, SIIM 2008 is the meeting
for you if you are interested in imaging technology and in coming
together with experts in this exciting field to connect, share, and
grow.
This year marks the 25th meeting on computer
applications in medical imaging. In 1966, it was known as the Symposium
for Computer Applications in Radiology and it has now evolved into the
Annual Meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine. For 25 years, it has been the
principal meeting in the field bringing together physicians, researchers,
technologists, imaging informatics professionals, health care
administrators, IT professionals, and vendors in a dynamic and collegial
setting.
The SIIM Annual Meeting provides a vibrant community and collegial forum
for networking with peers and thought leaders in the field of imaging
informatics. At SIIM 2008, you will find a comprehensive educational and
scientific program that is widely considered the best in the field for
those seeking professional growth, networking, and the latest knowledge
and science in imaging informatics.
Of particular note this year are new program features: invited speakers
for extended presentations of select scientific papers; an open source
plug fest; and hands-on learning labs exploring topics such as DVTK,
XIP, Nagios & Wikis. SIIM 2008 also features the sixth year of the highly rated
Imaging Informatics Professionals Symposium.
For those who are purchasing or upgrading equipment, the SIIM exhibit
hall is second-to-none in terms of immediate access to top vendors.
Check out our new online
exhibit hall guide.
Dont miss out plan now to join SIIM and your imaging informatics
colleagues in Seattle!
